PEOPLE, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CITIZENS BANK.
I qualified for a $600 promotions offer due to be paid BY December 31, 2022 – according to their printed flyer. I met all qualifications and requirements, according to their flyer. As of mid-January 2023, I have not received any bonus.
Excuses for why I have not been paid vary, but both Citizens Bank and I agree that: 1. I met all promotional requirements; 2. I should have been paid by 12/31/22.
The latest is I should receive my bonus this week, Wednesday at the earliest, Friday at the latest. As of Wednesday afternoon, no bonus.
I’ve dealt with many banks and have never had an issue until now. IMO, they are delaying, delaying, delaying, hoping I’ll close my Citizens accounts and fade away, thus absolving them of the need to fulfill their end of the contract (yes, this constitutes a contract: I “lent” them money for a minimum time, and they pay me a set amount) and pay me (if I close my primary account before they’ve paid me, I have effectively severed the contract and relieved them of the necessity to pay me).
