Application process was easy, just make sure to enter the above referral code on the 2nd page. I was emailed later requesting proof of address, copy of ID and verification of eligibility ($1 donation qualified for this). Also, I stated that I was referred by a friend. $5 payment is required after the docusign is completed. Any ACH bank transfer is supposed to qualify per statement cycle, plus 12 debit card transactions and e-statements are required.
I signed up for the Kasasa cash back checking account to qualify for this promotion. Also, make sure you have a valid phone number on file so they can send you your debit card. Not sure if the debit transactions have to be signature or pinless, or if either work to satisfy the bonus requirements. I will be doing 50 cent Amazon reloads for this regardless. I know I have plenty of chex inquiries but was not asked about anything relating to chex.
Referral codes can be generated after member number is obtained from the secure email message they send you. Overview:
1. Become eligible for membership by making a donation to Air Force Academy Athletics.

2. Next, fill out your membership application here: https://secure.aafcu.com/Membership/Application
Note that it will not ask how you are eligible for membership. You enter the referral code on the last page before submitting the application. Please note that referral codes are only valid for 30 days. My code is ZBA6CX and it expires on 12/14/20.
3. You’ll get an email requesting proof of how you’re eligible, which Kasasa checking account you’d like to open, and a copy of your ID. After I replied to this email, I got a DocuSign, and then another DocuSign. Go to https://www.aafcu.com/referralrewards.html for your own referral code. You’ll need your membership number from the first DocuSign.
4. Fulfill the requirements for the first three months: 12 debit card purchases per month ($0.50 amazon reloads), one ACH or Direct Deposit, and statements.
